2025 FALL II AFTER-SCHOOL SERIES – Grades K–5
Fall II Session: October 28 – December 11

Join the Maria Mitchell Association this fall for our Fall II After-School Series, designed for students in Grades K–5. Each day of the week offers a unique set of nature-based activities, crafts, and adventures as we explore Nantucket Island together!

This day-specific program includes transportation from local schools:

• Nantucket Elementary School & Intermediate School – pickup at 2:30 PM

• Nantucket Lighthouse School – pickup at 2:50 PM

• Nantucket New School – pickup at 3:00 PM
  (With parent/guardian permission)

Participants will travel to the Hinchman House Natural Science Museum or an off-site field location. While school may be out, the curiosity continues!

Pick-up is at 5:00 PM sharp at the Natural Science Museum, 7 Milk Street.

• Tuesdays – 4 Week Series
  Oct 28; Nov 18; Dec 2, 9
  (No program on Nov 4, 11 or Thanksgiving Week)

• Wednesdays – 4 Week Series
  Oct 29; Nov 5, 12, 19
  Please note: Wednesday Dec 3 & Wednesday Dec 10 are NPS Early Release Days. **These sessions require separate registration under the NPS Early Release Days option.

• Thursdays – 6 Week Series
  Oct 30; Nov 6, 13, 20; Dec 4, 11

Program Fee:

• $350 for the full series

• $25 per individual session

FEARLESS FORESTERS: November 5 Special Day program offering for Grades K - 5!

Join us on an adventure through the forest for your student to foster a meaningful connection to the natural world. In our active day program, students will navigate the local forest and gain valuable outdoor knowledge and skills aimed at them understanding their place in the ecosystem. 

In this program we will uncover the hidden systems of the Nantucket forest. From the soil to the treetops, your student will practice and enhance their understanding of the forest biome through experiments, hikes, and enrichment activities. By the end, your student will develop the skills needed to be a fearless forester. Above all, we will explore the natural world with curiosity, joy, respect, and gratitude. Participants will be dropped off at the MMA's Hinchman House Natural Science Museum at 8:50am and pick up will be at 2pm at the Natural Science Museum, 7 Milk Street.

Cost per participant:$50 

MMA Members receive a 20% discount when signed into their account.

Medical Release Forms REQUIRED

Upon registration, you will be required to fill out a medical release form for your student to participate in these programs. We cannot allow your student to participate if these forms are not completed prior to attendance.

Winter I Session: January 13 – February 19

Join the Maria Mitchell Association this winter for our Winter I After-School Series, designed for students in Grades K–5. Each afternoon offers seasonal, nature-based activities, experiments, crafts, and outdoor exploration—even in the chilly months!

This day-specific program includes transportation from local schools:

• Nantucket Elementary School & Intermediate School – pickup at 2:30 PM

• Nantucket Lighthouse School – pickup at 2:50 PM

• Nantucket New School – pickup at 3:00 PM
  (With parent/guardian permission)
